Become a Permaculture facilitator in schools

GOALS :

  • To be part of the context of generalized evolution of the social system linked to ecology.

  • Meet the needs of the education system by training school personnel in the tools necessary to face the environmental challenges of the 21st century.

  • Make young students teachers to their parents.

  • Explore the ins and outs of an environmental education project through the eco-citizenship approach.

  • Support the learning of basic subjects by integrating a new activity based on ecology.

  • Theoretical contributions, case studies, practical advice to better respond to specific issues encountered in the field.

  • The program provides for in-depth work on the design of tools, listening to the context and the space to be occupied. He learns the management of a seasonal schedule and its adaptation according to the evolution of the project in the field.

  • At the end of these trainings, the participants will be trained in the development of a draft project on a theme chosen by the participants. 

TRAINING PROGRAM

DAY 1- Observation and new orientations

  • 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:  

- Issues and problems of environmental education.

- Operation of educational structures.
- Case study: Jacques Majorelle School in Marrakech.

- Pilot project to integrate an activity into the environment within the school system of a

  duration of three years, from kindergarten to college, annual cycle followed from September to July.

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m .:  

- Visit of tools for reading the landscape, collecting structural information, appreciation

   administrative and technical data.
- Know how to assess your needs: timing of interventions, content adapted to the number of

   seasonal sessions, human resources, logistics needs.

  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m .: End of the day

- Debriefing and discussions

DAY 2- Approach to tools

  • 9:30 am to 12:30 pm:  

- Know the animation tools (activities according to the season and the stages of the project).
- Know how to prepare an educational project with its educational case.
- How to calculate your budget?

- Learn to prepare your schedule.

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m .:  

- Know the human factor, know how to adapt to a context, build a team

   educational, involve an administration.
- Raise awareness, arouse interest in the project, make it accessible to all audiences.
- Knowing how to unite a team, weave social links, act with the right levers and interactions. social benefits for the smooth running of the project.

  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m .: End of the day

DAY 3- Prepare, adapt your project

  • 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:  

- Support levers for integrating teachers and school and association staff into the school program for the season.
- The actors, the decision-makers, the stages of integration of a project.
- Case study: Dar Taliba Ourika , valley of the High Atlas (Morocco).

- Educational and participatory pilot project for the preservation of aromatic and medicinal plants from the Atlas, multiplication and reforestation in Berber villages and national parks in the High Atlas region.

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m .:  

- Take out the ingredients: collect structural, administrative and technical information.
- Identify priorities, identify blocking points, identify your budget, identify third parties who can intervene and support the project.

- Evaluate your needs: timing of interventions, content adapted to the number of seasonal sessions, human resources, logistical needs.

  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m .: End of the day

- Debriefing, exchanges

DAY 4- Prepare garden activities

  • 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:  

- Know how to carry out activities.
- Establish an ecological project according to its structure.
- The activities to be included in the planning, by season.
 
- Special attention (maintenance during holidays, weekends ...).

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m .:  

- Seedlings.
- Fertility.
- Notions of pedology.
- Planning and maintenance of the garden.

  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m .: End of the day

- Debriefing, exchanges

DAY 5- Prepare sustainable development activities

  • 8:30 am to 12:30 pm:  

- Case study, establishment of a study office on sustainable development and

  food and energy autonomy within a school.
- Exchange and discussions.

  • 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m .:  

- Design tools.
- Water, energies, alternatives, school gardens, local development etc ...

  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m .: End of the day
